Neurofeedback Billing Experts - Ready for the 2027 CPT Change

The neurofeedback billing landscape is changing January 1, 2027. We specialize in NFB billing compliance, credentialing, and the 90X03 transition — so your practice keeps getting paid.

⚠️ Action Required — January 2027 CPT Code Change

Code 90X03 replaces the current neurofeedback billing structure effective January 1, 2027. Practices still filing under legacy codes will face widespread denials. NCCI edits are already active as of July 1, 2025 — making proper code pairing non-negotiable today.

The codes your practice needs to know

Billing Rules

Critical compliance rules — enforced now

NCCI edits active since July 1, 2025 mean these aren't suggestions. Errors cost you the claim and raise audit risk.

Clinician runs session → 90875/90876
When the credentialed provider conducts biofeedback directly, bill 90875 or 90876. Pairs cleanly with therapy codes.
Tech runs session → 90901
When a trained technician runs the neurofeedback hardware, 90901 is the correct code. Keep provider notes separate.
90837 + 90901 same day
This combination is an NCCI unbundling violation. Claims will deny and repeated filing triggers audit scrutiny.
Medicaid coverage varies by state
Many state Medicaid programs cover neurofeedback. We verify coverage and credentialing requirements for your specific state.
Commercial payer mandates expanding
Commercial coverage for NFB is growing. We identify the strongest reimbursement leverage for your specific payer mix.
Credentialing gaps kill reimbursement
Type 1 (individual) and Type 2 (facility) NPI credentialing must both be in place. Missing either causes payer-level denials.
